What is the lowest temperature rating on the insulated pad?Updated 5 months ago

Our Haven Tent pads come in different insulation levels to accommodate a variety of camping conditions. Here’s a breakdown of the R-values for our pads:

  • True Level XL Insulated Pad: R5.3
  • Premium Insulated Pad: R5 (21% lighter-weight than the Standard Pad)
  • Standard Insulated Pad and Other Pads: Approximately R3

These R-values make our Premium and True Level XL Pads excellent choices for cooler weather, providing substantial warmth and insulation. However, if you’re heading out in particularly cold conditions, you may want to consider additional insulation to prevent CBS (cold butt syndrome).

Boost Your Insulation with the Insulated Pad Cover

For serious cold-weather camping, our Insulated Pad Cover is the ultimate solution. It’s designed to combat CBS by adding targeted insulation where it’s needed most:

  • Leg Area: Light insulation
  • Core: More insulation
  • Midsection: Maximum insulation

The cover effectively doubles the insulation of your pad, making it ideal for those seeking extra warmth without compromising on comfort.

Additional Tips for Staying Warm

Remember, insulation effectiveness can vary based on multiple factors, such as your sleeping bag or quilt quality, how well the rainfly is secured, and exposure to wind. By combining the right gear, like our True Level XL Insulated Pad and Insulated Pad Cover, you’ll be prepared for a cozy night even in chilly conditions.
